A native Nebraskan, Brian received his B.A. in History and Sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2011) and his M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago (2012).
Brian’s research focuses on the intersections between sexuality, policing, rural/urban space, and the American state. His dissertation analyzes sex crimes and moral crimes in Nebraska and explores how the legal system and local policing reinforced community boundaries in regards to race, class, and mobility.
