Modern Europe, Women and Gender, and Latin America History.

Advised by Luis Corteguera.

I am a third year PhD candidate here at the University of Kansas. My dissertation and research focus on the lives of religious women throughout Spain and its empire in the early modern period. Particularly, I am interested in their self expression as teachers and leaders of the faith despite the cultural limits imposed upon them.

In addition I have assisted in teaching courses ranging from the history of the Samurai to the Spanish Inquisition and have presented papers at Duke and the University of Kansas on the history of Peru and its people.
